• Conducted an economic development research project for the Ports-to-Plains NAFTA trade corridor. Analyzed economic activity along the corridor and identified public and private sector projects to enhance economic development in corridor communities. Identified a set of potential business development opportunities that relate to increased trade traffic. Provided a set of specific action items for corridor leaders to pursue.
  • Evaluated factors critical to success in marketing and operating a free trade zone in the Middle East. Assessed issues related to tenant operations, land development, and interaction with key government agencies.
  • Conducted a competitive assessment of four Middle Eastern cities to determine their attractiveness to multinational investors based on key criteria typically evaluated by U.S. corporate site seekers, as well as factors unique to the Persian Gulf region. Analysis used to determine likelihood of a proposed commercial development to meet its investment goals.
  • Completed a benchmarking analysis, including an evaluation of operating conditions and costs, in select ASEAN nations to support an inquiry into redevelopment options around Subic Bay and the former Clark air base in the Philippines.
  • Analyzed impact of foreign businesses on a metropolitan economy. Created a list of foreign-owned companies and estimated their local employment and total economic impact. Researched investment by foreign firms (investment real estate and property, plant and equipment to support business operations). Developed estimates of investment value.
